CONGRESS HIGHLIGHTS

The Premium Partners’ Panel addressed future visions, gaming channels, and responsibility

Monday’s Premium Partners’ Session was titled “Vision and Innovation for the Future”. The panelists were Senior Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer James Kennedy from SGI, Senior Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer Connie Laverty O’Connor from GTECH, and General Director George Zenzefilis from INTRALOT.

The moderator of the panel was Mr Jean-Luc Moner-Banet, General Director of Loterie Romande.

The panelists analysed, e.g., the gaming industry’s development since the previous EL Congress (2009 Istanbul); the roles of retail and internet as gaming channels; and social networks and responsibility. The Premium Partners’ representatives also gave their views about the Green Paper.

Connie Laverty O’Connor, Vice President  & Chief Marketing Officer, GTECH:  “Retail is my favourite area. Most of the sales come from retail and I believe retail is not about to disappear anywhere.  By optimizing and developing our relations with the retailers, we can increase our profits. We need to make service encounters easy for customers.”

James Kennedy, Senior Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer, SGI: “Consumers should not have to look for a point of sale; they should find it – and we should make them feel welcome at the points of sale. Consumer experiences cannot be emphasized too much.”

George Zenzefilis, General Director, INTRALOT: “The internet does not substitute everything; retail still has its own important role. However, retail needs modernizing. The points of sale should be attractive as places.”
