CONGRESS HIGHLIGHTS
True trailblazers, the Young Lions arrived in Helsinki and the Northern Light ahead of all the others, on Saturday. The Young Lions form three groups, each of which has been given the same task: to figure out how to tackle common issues critical to the industry’s future.
We went to see the Lions on Sunday when they were presenting their pre-assignments to each other and asked them how they were doing.
- The pre-assignments are a good starting point and now we have to narrow down for an idea, says Jochen Weiner from group 1.
- Now we have to come up with ideas to make things more attractive for young people. We are working on a “youth radar”, adds Kjersti Veum from group 3.
- Every country seems to have the same problems, finds Kristina Zarina from group 1.
Judging by the pre-assignments, the groups would seem to share many views; during the rest of the days, these views and ideas will be worked upon, to reach a final outcome that will be presented on the stage in front of the seminar audience on Wednesday.
- We will make a mix of different ideas, Rebecka Johansson believes.
The Young Lions have great expectations for the next few days. The “Gaming doctor”, Ph.D. Aki Järvinen introduces them to, e.g., the secrets of how to present ideas successfully. There’s a lot to learn.
- We also have to learn how to work with a group of people we have never met before, points out Manal Bensalah from group 2.
The Young Lions amazed by Helsinki’s nightless nights
The Young Lions, who arrived in Helsinki on Saturday, have already had the time to get to know Helsinki’s nightless nights.
- It was surprising that you can still read your map without a light on at midnight, Christina Hauenstein laughs.
