CONGRESS HIGHLIGHTS

Here are the congress delegates’ favourite ads!

This year, we had a record-high number of entries in the Lottery Advertising Awards competition: 78 commercials from 20 different countries, from 25 lotteries. The ads competed in four categories: Number Games, Instant Games and Sports Betting. There was also a brand new category: Corporate Image. The congress guests were given the chance to vote for their favourites beforehand, and the best commercials were awarded in the Prize ceremony at the Partners’ Piazza on Tuesday.

The congress guests’ votes clearly accumulated to the Greek lottery OPAP’s commercials; OPAP’s commercials won three out of the four categories. The ads that attracted the most votes in each category were:

  • Corporate Image: Together, OPAP, Greece
  • Number Games: Music Telegram, OPAP, Greece
  • Instant Games: Flax Frost, Norsk Tipping, Norway
  • Sports Betting: Paul 2 Greek Super League, OPAP, Greece

The Jury will award the Grand Prix to their favourite on Wednesday

The Advertising Awards will continue today, on Wednesday, as the Advertising Awards Jury awards the Grand Prix to their favourite commercial during the Closing Event at the Opera House. The members of the jury are top professionals from the advertisement business:  Jaana Haapala, Partner & Strategy Director of FOLK Finland, Terri La Fleur, Founder & President of TLF Publications, and Eka Ruola, Executive Creative Director of Hasan & Partners.

- When I judge commercials I always vote for the one that makes me scream out of envy. Some of these commercials were like that. I would have wished for more fresh new approaches, but the best ones did make me envious: I would have wanted to make them myself, said Eka Ruola.

Which one of the 78 commercials has melted the jury’s hearts and made them wish they had been the ones to make the commercial? Who will win the Grand Prix? Today we will find out.
