Advertising Awards

The EL 2011 Advertising Awards competition has been a success; we have received a record-high number of entries - altogether 78 ads. The Number games category attracted the most entries – a total of 39. Even the new advertisement category – that of the Corporate image - attracted up to 10 ads.  Thanks to all the participating lotteries!

This year’s competition categories are:

  1. Number games
  2. Instant games
  3. Sports betting
  4. Corporate image

Voting process

All the congress participants can vote in advance on the internet http://el2011.advantlabs.fi from 23 May to 3 June 2011 until 12:00 CET. On the basis of all the pre-votes a shortlist will be drafted, with the top five commercials of each category. The congress participants who have not voted in the pre-vote can vote for the commercials on the shortlist during the congress either onsite or over the internet from 16:00 CET on 3 June to 10:00 on 7 June.

The final winners will be decided on the basis of all the votes – both the pre-votes and the votes cast onsite. You can only vote once: either in the pre-vote or during the congress, onsite or over the internet. However, you can view the ads againeven after voting by giving your name and password.

Professional Advertising Awards Jury

The Crème de la crème of the 2011 lottery advertisements will be broadcast as part of the Business Programme on Tuesday 7 June at 11:30.

The ads will be commented on by the Advertising Awards Jury whose members are: Eka Ruola, Executive Creative Director of Hasan & Partners Professional, Jaana Haapala, Strategy Director and Partner of FOLK Finland, and Terri Markle La Fleur, Founder and President of TLF Publications. The session will be moderated by Ari Tuuli, Development Manager of Veikkaus’ Brand & Marketing Communications.

Celebrating the Winners

The ads that attracted the most votes in each category were:

  • Corporate Image: "Together", OPAP, Greece
  • Number Games: "Music Telegram", OPAP, Greece
  • Instant Games: "Flax Frost", Norsk Tipping, Norway
  • Sports Betting: "Paul 2 Greek Super League", OPAP, Greece

    The Grand Prix 2011 went to the National Lottery of Belgium’s advertisement "Creating chances together".
